Turkish delight: Aegean well-being

by posted in NEWS

Sparkling sea views, warm breezes, natural beauty and as many archeological wonders as you care to wander … it is into this extraordinary Turkish Riviera destination that Six Senses Kaplankaya has set up home.

Having originally taken over the property’s management in May 2017, Six Senses closed the resort in October 2017 to carry out planned work in tandem with Clodagh Design in New York and bring it in line with our environmental, wellness and hospitality standards.

Now the 141 guestrooms, villas and suites in the main complex, plus 154 private residences located adjacent to the resort will complement the landscape using responsibly-sourced materials.

The vision for the resort, and the broader development at Kaplankaya, is to create a high-end and environmentally-sensitive destination and positive social impact while preserving the natural surroundings and wealth of history in the local areas. Indeed, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus and the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, both among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, are within striking distance. Milas-Bodrum International Airport (BJV) is also just 10 minutes by helicopter, 30 minutes by boat and 50 minutes by car.

For a resort that will provide its guests and residents a truly integrative approach to wellness, it is no surprise that it features a 107,700 sq.ft. (10,005 sq.m.) Six Senses Spa. That’s a lot of room for our instructors and experts to guide guests through the latest advancements in wellness, fitness and prevention. If you want to fully immerse, choose from a variety of programs designed around anti-aging, movement, weight loss, body cleansing and mindfulness. Alternatively, meet one of our visiting practitioners who visit the resort throughout the year and offer a seamless blend of Eastern preventative medicine with results-orientated Western influences to help you along your path to optimum health.

Head to the Alchemy Bar to blend your own ingredients for either a body scrub or wrap, or face or hair mask. You’ll work with a variety of locally-sourced herbs and products, feel their textures, get swept up in their aromas, and learn how to make these wonderful potions and cures at home.

The indoor swimming pool, Watsu pool, hammams, beauty salon, hydrothermal area including salt grotto, crystal steam room, experiential rains, Finnish sauna, hydrotherapy pool, heated loungers, foot therapy basins, igloo and relaxation lounges, and state-of-the-art fitness studios round off the all-round wellness experience.

With its untouched nature, unhurried hospitality and unsurpassed spa, at Six Senses Kaplankaya you can lose yourself in the right direction.
